Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Nirvana Animal Rescue! We are 100% volunteer-powered and do not have any paid employees. We rely solely on volunteers to keep us running! Adoption/Foster Team
Our adoption/foster teams review all online applications, conduct background and personal reference checks, contact landlord and veterinarian references, and speak to adoption/foster applicants over the phone to share information on our organization and answer questions. You are often the first person applicants speak to from Nirvana Animal Rescue, so you must be personable and enjoy speaking with people. You’ll need access to a phone and a computer.
Virtual Home Visits
Our virtual home visit team connects with prospective adopters and fosters to arrange virtual home visits, conducted over a video platform such as Skype, FaceTime, Facebook Messenger, etc. You’ll need access to a phone and/or computer and should enjoy speaking to people.
Grants/Fundraising
We are always looking for volunteers to help us identify new grant opportunities, apply for grants, brainstorm fundraising ideas, conduct donor outreach, and work with our event team to plan successful fundraising events. Previous grant writing or fundraising experience is a plus! You’ll need access to a computer.
Adoption Events
Our event team plans and executes adoption events! This includes finding appropriate venues, coordinating all event logistics, handling dogs and manning our booth at the event, and setting up and tearing down our booth before and after the event.
